Poll Time

Happy Wednesday!!! How is everybody's day going so far??? I'm just popping in to ask for some feedback. As we start this journey together, I would love for easy and convenient access to all of my postings. So  I have two questions for you.      1. How easy is it for you to see/follow/comment on my postings ??? Whether it's on your phone /laptop/tablet, I want to make sure that you're easily able to access my site.      2. How often would you like my installments??? Once a week??? Twice a week??? Three times a week??? You tell me. My schedule is very flexible, and I want you to get as much out of this as possible. If you guys want a daily message, I'm more than happy to do that as well. Please don't hesitate to comment on this, or any of my postings. I'm very interested and would very much be appreciative for your feedback. Have a great afternoon, and until next time, please take care of yourselves and others :)

Daily Routine

Good evening, everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful day today. For today's blog post, I'd like to share some insight into how I function on a daily basis. I truly hope you enjoy! In order to explain my daily routine, I feel like I should explain Cerebral Palsy a little bit more. There are four types of CP. My particular type of CP is spastic CP. Spastic quadriplegia/quadriparesis: Most severe form of spastic CP and affects all four limbs, the trunk, and the face. People with spastic quadriparesis usually cannot walk and often have other developmental disabilities such as intellectual disability; seizures; or problems with vision, hearing, or speech.. Essentially, I'm not physically capable of doing anything without assistance. I'm unable to dress myself, bathe myself, do my own hygiene routine, prepare meals, feed myself, clean my apartment, drive myself in the community, get in and out of my wheelchair just to name a few things. I also need assistance with pu...

Introduction Part Two

Hello, everyone! I hope you're having a fantastic weekend!! As I said in my previous post, I'm starting a new venture. I'm hoping that I can reach as many people as possible with my message. If you're reading this, please feel free to share with your family and friends. I'd be extremely appreciative! My intention for this blog is to educate people on all things disability related. If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out. So, let's jump into this! I'd like to give you a little more background information about myself. Just in case you haven't read my first post, my name is Elizabeth. I was born with a developmental disability called Cerebral Palsy. For anyone who doesn't know, CP is essentially a brain injury, most commonly occurs at birth. My injury happened at conception. More about that later...For now, let's move on. I'm in my early forties. I have a loving family who has been very suppo...
Have you ever wondered how a person who is confined to a wheelchair functons in daily life? I believe that most people believe that they have an idea, but if you are not in my particular position, I don't think anyone can understand the full impact that a disability can have on a person's life. Let me introduce myself. My name is Elizabeth Yost, and I'm a spastic quadriplegic with Cerebral Palsy. In a nutshell CP is a developmental disability. It's basically brain damage caused by multiple different things. My particular injury happened at conception. It can also happen during delivery of the baby. Most people are aware that it can occur during delivery, but it certainly can happen during any point in the pregnancy. I digress... I'm much more than my disability. I am a intelligent, witty, compassionate woman who loves life. Yes, having CP is not the best, but I have adapted to obstacles that have been put in my path. For the most part, I'm a positive person. Th...
